What We Collect
CoShop collects no personal data. We have no servers, no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no way to see what you buy.
The app stores your shopping list items, purchase history, and display name locally on your device and syncs them through your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework.
Data Storage
All data is stored in two places, both controlled by you:
We do not operate any servers. We cannot access your iCloud data. If you delete the app, your local data is deleted. Your iCloud data can be managed through your iCloud account settings.
Household Sharing
When you share your list with household members, only the people you explicitly invite can see your data. Sharing is powered by Apple's CloudKit sharing infrastructure — we have no visibility into shared data.
Your display name (which you choose) is shared with household members so they can see who added or checked off items. No other personal information is shared.
Camera & Photos
CoShop uses the camera to let you photograph items for your shopping list and scan receipts. Photos are stored locally and synced to your iCloud as part of your shopping list data. Photos are compressed (max 512px, JPEG quality 0.5) to minimize storage use.
CoShop does not access your photo library. Camera access is requested only when you choose to take a photo.
Data Retention
To keep your device storage lean, CoShop automatically cleans up older data:

Third-Party Services
CoShop uses only Apple's own frameworks:

No data is sent to third-party servers. AI parsing and receipt scanning run entirely on your device.
In-App Purchases
CoShop offers an optional tip jar with three tiers. These are one-time consumable purchases processed entirely by Apple. We do not collect or store any payment information. All transactions are handled through your Apple ID.
Children's Privacy
CoShop does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The app contains no advertising, no social features beyond household sharing, and no user accounts.
Your Rights & Control
Since all data is stored on your device and in your personal iCloud account, you have full control:
Delete your data: Use Settings → Manage Data inside the app, or simply delete the app to remove all local data.
Manage iCloud data: Go to iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage to view and delete CoShop's iCloud data.
Leave a shared list: Use Settings → Members → Leave Household. Your items remain on your device.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Since CoShop collects no personal data, meaningful changes are unlikely.
